Child Program and Services

The Garner Library has a variety of programs and activities for your child.

Monday @ 10 am and  5:30 pm we have Toddlertime. Toddletime is for babies to age 6. We do stories, songs and finger plays. It lasts approximately 20 minutes.

1000 Books before Kindergarten is a read at home program to get children ready for kindergarten. When you sign up at the Library you receive a packet of information and your first sheet to mark off the number of books read. For every 200 hundred books that are read the child receives a book. Contact the Library for more information.

Summer Reading is for all ages babies to adult. The Library has a reading program to encourage kids to adults to keep reading throughout the summer. During June and July there are also several programs and activities  free of charge for all to learn and have fun. The program begins in June and runs through the second week of July.

In the winter months we have another reading incentive program called Sweet Reads. Kids and through adults read for fun and a chance to win prizes.

Do you have a budding artist in the family? Show their talent by entering them in the  DueseyD'Art show. The show takes place on the Saturday of Duesey Days. It is open for babies to adults. The People that visit the show that day get to vote for their favorite child and adult artist.
